For larger setups an admin will need access to every users personal receive link. Currently this is only available to the user when they log into the application. This creates an admin issue for the person managing the system.
Adding the personal receive link to the user page under the "Users" menu would mean that the admin isn't reliant on the individual users to send through their details.0 votes
Rather than clicking on various timeline points to move through an audio file it would be good to be able to scrub through the preview.
This would be more in line with existing functionality for digital audio editing.0 votes
Scrubbing will rely on the preview being completely buffered before it is able to function correctly. Playing the preview will display a buffered line as well as the current playback position.
All the status lines are in grey. They look very similar. "Files accessed" or "Files not accessed" especially when there are over 6-8 people's emails listed in the one send.
"Files accessed" to be green text or have a small green dot next to it.
"Files not accessed" to be red text or have a small red dot next to it.
On a quick glance, it would be very helpful.
On the player window in the power user console have a export frame button. When clicked it will export the current frame that the player is paused on as a .jpg image to save.1 vote
After finishing an upload it would be good to be able to create folders and reorganise files.28 votes
It would be great if after uploading a file, you could rename how it appears once shared. For example if I upload test_v04_rough.jpg, I can rename it to appear to the client as Test Version 412 votes
When you up load a file with a name .....
that name is copied automatically into the Subject box ....1 vote
This functionality is already there in the desktop application. For the first file/folder added the subject is changed.
We should be updating the web application to do the same.
There currently is "Add files from Dropbox". It would be good to be able to also add files from Google Drive.3 votes
Can you make it so we can hide what time it was posted at?1 vote
If you click the minimal option when customising your design this will hide the creation time of the upload.
File modified details will be displayed only in the full screen view and this i sthe last modified date on the file system, not when the file was uploaded.
Email address with your user name would help some of our clients track their files easier. ie "John Smith via Digital Pigeon"2 votes
This is how the site currently functions.
If you have populated your name under “Settings > Profile” any recipients will receive an email notifying them of the files.
The email will be sent to show “YourName via Digital Pigeon”.
The reply-to address for the email will be set to be your personal login email address.
Ability to select the poster frame for a video preview.1 vote
Video files have an ‘Update poster image’ option to select the current frame as a new poster image.
There is now a prompt to notify recipients when you update an upload.
There is an option to turn off this confirmation as well in case you don’t want to have this prompt happen every time you update.
If you have to send or share files to a group of many contacts over and over again it would be great to be able to create groups out of the contacts to simplify the sending process.25 votes
You can now tag contacts with a group name and use that name when adding recipients to uploads.
We will follow up with a blog post about this soon
I know currently you can drop a file to the dock icon on the Mac to start a new upload for Send - what would be even better is the ability to drag your file to the Send icon on the sidebar in the Mac app - as it stands now it doesn't do anything.
Would love to see it switch from whatever tab it's on to "Send" and start an upload :)1 vote
You can now drag/drop files onto specific menu items within Digital Pigeon to initiate a new Send or Share.
I understand the need to market your brand, but I would be willing to pay more to have the option to remove the Digital Pigeon branding from the email notifications and the landing pages to receive and download files.
Is this something you would consider?4 votes
We’ve recently improved & reduced the format of the Digital Pigeon branding in emails. Let me know what you think…
When viewing multiple files in the full-screen view it would be good to maintain where you are up to when moving between files.
This would assist in being able to do A/B mixes for audio editing or checking various different versions of particular uploads.0 votes
We now retain the current playback position when navigating between file previews in our full-screen view where comments are available.
Being able to find the most recently changed uploads would be advantageous.
There is currently functionality to sort by various means in the upload list. Adding modified date would enhance the options available there.21 votes
This functionality is now available in the drop-down to the left of the search field.
Have sent emails use the email address of the person hitting send rather than the person who uploads the files. (Send on behalf of)
Be able to upload with my account (firstname.lastname@example.org) and allow it to be 'shared' so another team member can (take ownership) send it from their account.
Being the head of video, i luckily don't have to deal with clients often. So i'd get the project lead to deal with that. However getting the file to them is not always easy, as the boring people don't have access to my video server.6 votes
We have added functionality to show who modified the upload last. This person will be used for the pickup page and the emails being sent to recipients.
Add Received date and time on Recieved material. I knoew we can check the emails - but it would be nice to be able to see directly on the file in the app1 vote
Implement tagging/label functionality to make it easier to organise and find uploads.
For example: All uploads related to a specific project/job could be tagged with "projectXYZ". This tag could then be used to quickly find these items as a group.45 votes
We’re pleased to (finally) announce support for the ability to tag and filter your uploads based on tags.
Users with ‘power user’ permissions and up can manage the tags from https://digitalpigeon.com/app/settings/tags. Applying tags to your uploads is as easy as clicking the tagging icon that appears towards the top left of each uploads.
A blog post is on the way with more detail.
