The Receive Link configuration is composed of function-based fields wherein you can set it up according to purpose or preference. Here, we tackle each field on what it does and how it helps you organise receive files through configured links. You can fully customise your links to maximise its functionality.
To know more about each field's description and functionality, click the appropriate link:
When creating/editing links, ensure to click the Save button to save your configuration.
Title
The Title field lets you create a descriptive label of the usage of the link. This does not affect the link in any way but is necessary especially if you have multiple links in an account. Finding the appropriate link will come with ease when you organise links by title or usage.
URL Name
When deciding to specify the URL Name field, we suggest to create a URL-Safe and will be added to the end or the actual link generated (i.e. client names, other names, etc.)
Page Design
The Page Design field is the theme that will be applied to the page that the person using the link will access. You can create company-branded upload pages, or for competitions, or specific audition submission pages, etc.
To create or customise page designs, open the Manage feature and select the Customise tab. See Custom Branding.
Password
The Password field enables you to set up additional link security by adding a password. When a password is specified, the feature activates automatically. Once the link is clicked, a Password Required window will appear asking the user to enter a password. This added security feature protects the link from unnecessary usage from unauthorised users that may send unsolicited and harmful files (e.g. virus, malware, etc.).
Ensure to provide intended users the password to access the file upload page.
Recipient
The Recipient field enables you to assign a person in the account to receive the files. This functionality enables you to efficiently delegate receiving tasks to team members within the account.
To use this feature, click the Recipient field's drop down arrow and select the team member to receive the files. If this remains blank, all account users will be able to access the files.
Tags
The Tags field lets you add tags to your links. This enables you to categorise receive files accordingly. It also makes your file search easier as you can use the Tag Filter to look for the files that you want to access.
To use this feature, find the Tags tab in the Receive Link window, and click its drop down arrow to select the tag(s) that you want to add.
Send Email Notification
The email notification functionality when enabled will notify the file uploader via email when the upload completes.
To enable this functionality, select the Send an email to the person uploading files when the files have finished uploading checkbox within the selected Receive Link window.
Default
When setting a default link, it will be used as the account's default receive link. This means that if an older link is used and it can't be found of someone mistypes the address, the default link will be used instead.
To enable this functionality, select the Default checkbox within the selected Receive Link window.
Further customisation
Additional customisation is possible including the ability to pre-fill fields to varying states, this includes the ability to provide a recipient a Receive Link that only requires the files themselves and no other information. Check out our "Integrating the website widget" help article to learn more on this.
